Fast. Reliable. Built for Cable Trays.

Bendy Cable Ties are made for repetitive tray work. The pre-formed tip speeds up fixing, while the PA66 construction and 50 lbf tensile strength deliver a strong, consistent hold on standard cable trays — job after job.

Bendy Cable Ties vs Standard Cable Ties

See how Bendy Cable Ties stack up against standard straight cable ties when you’re working on perforated cable trays.

Feature Bendy Cable Ties Standard Cable Ties
Installation speed on cable trays 2–3× faster — around 50–67% time saving on tray installs. Normal speed — each tie must be bent, twisted and fed through slots by hand.
Wrist strain & ergonomics Pre-formed hook removes repetitive bending and twisting for more comfortable installs. Repeated manual bending and twisting can cause fatigue and discomfort on long runs.
Designed for perforated cable trays Yes — pre-formed to hook through common slot patterns and pull back through easily. No — designed as a straight general-purpose tie, not optimised for tray slots.
Tray slot compatibility Works with all common perforated tray slots (20×7, 25×7, 28×7, 30×7, 35×7 mm). May fit, but often fiddly and slow to feed through elongated slots.
One-handed use in tight spaces Pre-formed hook makes it easier to feed through slots even when visibility is poor. Harder to bend and feed one-handed behind trays, ductwork and in ceiling voids.
Material & ratings PA66 nylon, UL Type 2S/21S, UL 94V-2 flame-rated, CE approved. Varies by brand — not always supplied with clear ratings or documentation.
Strength & reliability Comparable tensile strength to a high-quality 4.8 mm PA66 cable tie. Depends on brand and specification.
Best suited for Cable-tray runs, risers, overhead tray, data/comms trays and time-critical installs. General bundling and non-tray applications.
Learning curve Very low — installers and apprentices pick up the hook-and-pull action immediately. Familiar, but slow and repetitive on trays.

Fits Standard Cable Trays

Built to work with common perforated tray slots—no bending required.

  • Hooks First Time, Every Time

The shaped hook feeds straight through standard tray slots, so you can secure cables quickly without re-positioning or forcing the tie.

  • Save Time on Every Run

No bending, no wrist-twisting. Bendys speed up repetitive tray work and make long installs easier on your hands.

  • Built for Real-World Trays

Tested across common cable tray types and slot patterns to ensure a consistent, secure fix without snagging or adjustment.

FAQ

Bendy Cable Ties are pre-formed with a built-in hooking angle, designed specifically for perforated cable trays. There’s no bending by hand, no twisting and no feeding the tie around blindly.

Standard tie (slow + strain):

bend → hold → feed through slot → twist wrist → adjust → pull through

Bendy tie (pre-formed hook):

hook → pull → done

This makes cable-tray work typically 2–3× faster — a 50–67% reduction in installation time — especially on long runs where standard ties must be bent repeatedly by hand.

Bendy Cable Ties are moulded from PA66 nylon, the industry standard for strength and durability.

  • Heat resistant: −40 °C to +85 °C
  • UL rated: Type 2S/21S
  • Flame rating: UL 94V-2
  • CE compliant
  • UV stabilised for indoor and outdoor use

They’re built for reliability on construction sites, plant rooms, risers and suspended ceilings.

Bendy Cable Ties work with all common perforated cable tray slot patterns, including:

  • 20 × 7 mm
  • 25 × 7 mm
  • 28 × 7 mm
  • 30 × 7 mm
  • 35 × 7 mm
  • Most elongated “oblong” slots

How the hook path works:

[SLOT 1] ── hook ──> (curved path) ──> out [SLOT 2] → tighten

The pre-formed bend allows the tie to enter through one slot, travel behind the tray, exit through the next slot, and wrap around your cables in one clean movement. If a tray has elongated slots, Bendys will hook.

Yes. Bendy Cable Ties are UL 94V-2 flame-rated, meeting the standard required on most UK commercial installs.

  • UL Listed Type 2S/21S
  • CE approved
  • Heat-resistant PA66 nylon

Full certification documents are available on request if you need them for site documentation or specification packs.

Each Bendy Cable Tie is:

  • 300 mm long
  • 4.8 mm wide
  • Designed around standard cable-tray slot spacing
  • Comparable in tensile strength to a high-quality 4.8 mm PA66 cable tie

Installers typically report that Bendy Cable Ties make cable-tray work 2–3× faster, equal to a 50–67% reduction in installation time.

Because the pre-formed hook eliminates all the bending and twisting required with standard ties, your workflow becomes more consistent, quicker and far less tiring — particularly on large installs where hundreds of ties are used.

Bendy Cable Ties were created by UK cable installers working in satellite communications, then refined with input from electricians and M&E contractors.

In short: they’re designed by installers, for installers – to make cable-tray work faster and easier.

Yes. The pre-formed hook allows you to feed the tie with one hand through tray slots, even when you can’t see clearly.

They’re ideal for:

  • Ceiling voids and suspended ceilings
  • Risers and shafts
  • Above ductwork
  • Behind trunking and in awkward corners

Yes. Bendy Cable Ties are made from high-grade PA66 and are comparable in tensile strength to a standard 4.8 mm cable tie.

They’re designed to hold cable bundles securely in demanding environments while still giving you the speed and ergonomics of the pre-formed hook.
